Alan  Pearce

Leeuwin Current  

Alan Pearce is a physical oceanographer who retired from CSIRO in 2006 but has continued his interests in the Leeuwin Current system and its role in larval recruitment via a part-time position with the Western Australian Department of Fisheries in Perth. He has also played a role in promoting the application of satellite remote sensing along the Western Australian coast. He is currently undertaking a part-time PhD study at Curtin University synthesizing historical (and some present) current and temperature measurements to develop a climatology of the water circulation and temperature variability along the continental shelf of the south-west coast.
