Williamson
Jane Williamson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biological Sciences at Macquarie University. She has over 20 years experience in marine biology and leads the Marine Ecology Group (bio.mq.edu.au/marine_ecology), an interdisciplinary group with a focus on ocean change and adaptability of marine organisms; the ecology and behaviour of vertebrates and invertebrates; and the conservation and sustainability of species, especially those that are threatened. Dr Williamson is currently researching the effects of ocean acidification, temperature and salinity on fertilization and early development of invertebrates and fishes. She is also on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Sydney Institute of Marine Science (www.sims.org.au) and is Chair of the NSW Fisheries Scientific Committee (www.fsc.nsw.gov.au), an independent body that lists and advises the Minister and Director-General on matters relating to threatened species, populations and communities in aquatic waters.
