Katy has researched the variability in the East Australian Current, linking the boundary current changes to hemispheric climate change and variability; particularly wind patterns. She now works for the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), coordinates the development of science plans which determines what is measured where and how. She also promotes the use and applications of IMOS data to ensure that they are taken up and used to their potential by research programs, and for the management and protection of our marine environment and resources. Prior to coming to Australia, Katy also worked in international coordination of climate research and observations through a project of the World Climate Research Program.
