Mark Meekan

Dr Mark Meekan is a Principal Research Scientist in the Perth office of the Australian Institute of Marine Science. He received his PhD at Griffith University, Australia in 1992, completing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Laval University, Quebec Canada (1992-1995). His research activities cover a very broad range of subjects, with a principal (but not exclusive) focus on the biology of coral reef fishes and elasmobranchs. With over 120 scientific and technical papers in international journals, recent publications include studies of population demography and dynamics, sampling techniques, feeding, selective mortality, plankton communities, and navigation and migration.
