El Nino-Southern Oscillation

Shayne mcgegor enso
Dr Shayne McGregor is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the the University of New South Wales Climate Change Research Centre (CCRC). He completed his Masters and PhD degrees with the Department of Environment and Geography at Macquarie University where his dissertations focused on investigating the mechanisms that contribute to the interdecadal variability of the El NiƱo-Southern Oscillation. Shayne uses instrumental and paleo-proxy observations along with numerical models of the atmosphere, ocean and coupled system to improve our understanding interannual to multi-decadal scale climate variability. He is particularly interested in the dynamics of the El Nino-Southern Oscillation. His current research focuses on the effect of the South Pacific Convergence Zone on the termination of El Nino events.
