Katy Hill East Australian Current | Leeuwin Current |

image

As part of her PhD, Katy looked at wind forced variability in the East Australian Current, linking the boundary current changes to hemispheric climate change and variability. She now works for the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), promoting the use of IMOS data, and supporting the development of science plans which set the rationale for the observing system. Katy continues to publish on the mechanisms of variability in the East Australia Current.

Ken Ridgway East Australian Current |

Ken Ridgway has over 25 years experience in physical oceanography and climate research.  He has maintained a long-term interest in the East Australian Current - his work has led to a much improved understanding of the mean and time-varying circulation of this major western boundary system.  Throughout his career Ken’s research interests have centred on observational analysis with a particular focus on developing ocean observing systems.  As part of the Integrated Marine Observing System (IMOS), he leads the Bluewater Node, which provides the scientific direction for monitoring of the large-scale ocean regions around Australia.
